23.03.07  MVP Retrospective
Due to no reports a quick look back at 2006 will reveal how the trophy was
won. Just like the Oscars I would like to thank god (hang on I don't believe
in god!?!?!), the whites and of course Cap who pulled me through (and Donna
for letting him drink with me). Honorable mentions also for support to
Sheree, Joe, Kylie, Chris, Duff, Dan.B, Dan.A, Jonny, Chop, Duggaz, Mark and
Perry
A typical week for MVP:
A lunch time call to my favorite banking buddy would normally get
proceedings under way for the week. I would put this down to how the MVP
award was actually won as these beers before most plebs had even finished
work put me ahead. Kicking on was normally an option once a few whites had
finished working but the early beers meant I was normally tucked away by
10-11pm ready to dominate the game the next day (dominate...mmmmm)
Playing in the B's should not be underestimated when it comes to this award.
It gives you a solid 90mins on you're A's opponents. In saying that it also
becomes harder to kick on (so I've heard...) after the Kentish as you may
have now told everyone about the overhead bicycle kick you scored along with
telling Dan Bushe and Joe what they are doing wrong in the A's. Do as I say
not as I do. Dinner at IP's is always a good option at some point
So looking back what events stand out:
Duffman's 40th: Just a "quiet night" for MVP. A few quiet beers then off to
bed. Many people came out for this event as the chance to get into a school
uniform excites us all...or not..."duffman says a lot of things." Duffy put
on one exceptional party and him and his wallet must be thanked. "$2 beers"
where on the cards, and some whites were so excited they though they would
tell everyone whilst on top of a table. All in all a huge night that saw MVP
crash tackle Jonny from the advertiser after his connection could not get us
into the Karaoke bar. "I am Jonny from the advertiser and I am here to
review your establishment" Obviously the advertiser is not as well known as
the Newcastle Herald in south east Asia
Goblin Attack: Red Bull are still coming to grips with the steep incline in
their sales graphs that occurred this said weekend. Once again Friday beers
were on the cards, a trip to the casino and then up to play Rostrevor on the
Saturday. Jager Bombs away and the weekend was huge. IP's for dinner
followed by every bar in China town, 2 I think, including a lack of RSA on
someones behalf and Bon Jovi ringing in our ears.
4 day bender (Jesus returns):
Joe gets a big ups here, guy took a day off work to go drinking and to play
golf, Champion!!! So off a plane and straight to the ale house for a beer
with Cappy as he leaves for Melbourne (tip: always get a beer when you
can!). Beers at bull and bear after that then a very messy game of indoor
(hazey at best.). Early start, it was a work trip after all, then to Crown
and Scepter for Jonny A's b'day. Big night but had to be careful as still 2
nights to go (tip for your players wishing to emulate MVP's actions). Bit of
work again next morning then the festivities begin! Golf for everyone except
for jonny who did not take his eye out the night before. And had to go to
hospital. IP"s for dinner and a quiet night as we knew tomorrows festivities
would be huge. Piss that off!! MVP drags Joe to a punk show to yell at
people and get boozy! Pie on the way home for me, Joe had KFC..oh hang
on.another tip KFC closes around 11pm. Huge breakfast to line ones stomach
and then on to caps for warm up beers and bombs tip 3: Jaeger Bombs make
whites go nuts and we should buy shares in Red Bull. Huge night at the preso
and what can you say CLAIMED DRINKING 11 CUP!!! 4 days that lead up to this
showed I deserved it hahaha!! Joe deserves praise here as he soldiered on
through these days and came up trumps
Thanks Whites for 2 great years, back to Goblin land for me. I'll be back to
pass on tips to anyone who needs them during July and to hand back the cup.

14.10.06  MVP
An unreported season it seems... nothing ventured nothing gained perhaps.
However, congratulations to this year's MVP: Lee Bennett.
And now he scoots off back to Goblinhood with the spoils.
No loyalty!
