The guys from Super 5 all grew up in the Rundle Street Ghettos of Adelaide, South Australia. It was a tough time for them. "Yo really had ta watch ya back" as Ricky T says. They all came from the wrong side of the tracks with no money and only three BMWs and two Mercedes to their parents' names. Every day was a rough ride.

The guys spent their time "kickin' it in da street" and getting into trouble "wit' da man", until AREK producer Tony B, who was "keepin' it real" met up with Marty in the middle of a gang fight. Marty had sprained his finger and was ready to "go down wit' da posse", but Tony B risked his life and got him out.

"Da brother had my back" recalls Marty. From that day on Marty decided to "quit the zero and get wit' da hero" and turned his life around. He soon teamed up with Jonny and Kevin K, who were "chillin' wit' da dope rhymes in da hood".

The trio then found Ricky T and Robby. Robby was glad to leave a dead end relationship with his bossy, thirteen year old, pregnant girl-friend behind to "get busy" with his new homies. Ricky T was battling a caffeine addiction at the time and found the strength to confront his problem with the help of the others.

The group was soon in the recording studio under their first name "Little Whimpy White Boys". The mission was to transform their Adelaide Ghetto streetsmarts into a new funky groove, which would set the world on fire. No easy task for the guys, but when Tony B finally changed their name to Super 5 things just seemed to fall into place.

The boys built on Robby's personal experiences to write "What 'cha momma gunna say (when she finds out you're my baby?)" with a little help from AREK songwriters Greg Bailey, Tina Hoff, Simone Miller, David-Thomas Scott, Simon Buchanan and Lewis Gregory Timms III.

The single soon hit the world charts and was Iceland's quickest climber for a number of weeks, before dropping out after it had reached its highest position at No. 34.

However, the band knew that they had made it when their "Da Hardcore Mix" rerelease of the single reached the coveted No. 1 position in San Marino.

The rest is history. Super 5 are now loved and respected the world over. They really have stayed true to their roots and will be "kickin' it life" at a party near you real soon.
