14.8.10 Crab & Claire's Housewarming
Our number one supporter made her house available for the Uni Whites to hold an official drinking X1 event. Top work Claire and the place is great too (your house mate seems like a good egg). Many of the Whites heard the call and ventured forth for another night of glamour and glitter (the glitter was just Dan’s shirt).
Vince came as Pancho (his favourite drunk) complete with Chilean football shirt and the earflap beanie, Pancho came as himself because really, why would you want to dress up as anyone else. The old guard made an appearance to show the young guys how the drinking X1 works, with Graeme, Leo, Richard and Duffy all showing great form. I’m pretty sure that Tony was having a seizure on the dance floor when at 3am he got dragged from the house by Anita and I assume taken for a check-up somewhere.
While the start to premier league season dominated conversation and the games unfolded via foxsports, the night became a little messier and a little harder to recall. Vince started mixing rum and coke with slices of lemon (tasted great), Dan started giving out shots of liquor and the eskies magically replenished themselves.
Longy went soft at this stage, performing an early exit followed by Wez, Dan and Joe.
A reminder that all drinks given to selectors (Saf & Lev) do constitute bribery, which is most welcome and will get you picked in the squad every time.
Now, I left the party at 4am after waking Jon George from his couch induced sleep, at this time of the morning I found Ash, Vince and Pancho had been playing with the Uni Green strips for a while in Crabs 1980’s Gordon Gecko style ensuite. Saf was still on the dance floor shaking that ass and Crab was surveying the drunken scene in front of him like a man who could still manage lucid thought (or so it seemed). Great work from all that attended, it was another top night that showed being part of the Whites is pure glamour.
The squad selected is based on drinking performance and attendance throughout the season with special weighting given to Saturday night’s official event. All people not named should try harder to get to the pub on a Thursday or after the game.

1.5.10 The Garden of Noir
The season is but in its infancy and reputations can still be made and lost.
Standouts so far include Duffy's ever presence during games and a (memorable) exit from a recent "Uni White event" at my place.
The same event at which Pancho shone, spending the night comatose on what he later described to me as
"a very uncomfortable" couch. Yeah right Pancho!
